Open Water Swim Clinic
Regina Beach--This date has passed. Look back for next year!
RMC is hosting ANOTHER FREE open water swim clinic on Tuesday August 15 at Regina Beach. We are thrilled that RMC Swim Coach Jackie “First Out of the Water” Hatherly will once again coach a session that will challenge all levels of athletes.
This clinic is a good opportunity for members travelling to Riding Mountain Triathlon, or other late season races, to fine tune their open water skills. No more events this year? No problem – all members are welcome!
Please be at the beach by 6:15pm. Swimmers will be in the water from about 6:30pm to 7:30pm. This clinic is open to all RMC members, a STAC membership is also required for insurance purposes.
If the weather is poor on August 15 we will try to move the swim to the following evening.
And yes, the water will be green. We will monitor and make alternative plans or cancel if necessary.
Echo Lake--This date has passed. Look back for next year!
Registration for the Echo Lake Triathlon includes the opportunity to attend THREE FREE open water swim confidence clinics. Registered athletes will receive a link to RSVP via email.
The first clinic will be held at Echo Lake on June 10th at 1PM. Facilitated by Lightning Triathlon Coach Brendan Mackenzie, this course will focus on safe open water swimming skills. There will also be wetsuit demos for athletes to try and instruction on proper wetsuit fit and use. Coaching will be targeted toward teaching the basics, but all registered Echo Lake triathlon athletes are welcome to attend and are sure to pick up some new skills.
The second clinic will be held in on June 29th and will be facilitated by Jackie Hatherly and Race Director Chris Gdanski.
